Abuga Mountain

One of the most popular places in Cañar province is Abuga. It is a high mountain (3090 m.a.s.l ) located in Azogues ("Info Cerro abuga: AZOGUES-Cañar, Ecuador," n.d.). The panoramic view is wonderful from there; people can see Azogues city and its surroundings. 

 Virgen de la Nube Monument  

However, the tourist attraction is not only the mountain but Virgen de la Nube monument. This monument, which is 25 meters high, was inaugurated in 2010 ("Santuario de la Virgen de la Nube," 2021). Many Catholic people visit Virgen de la Nube, especially in January (new year) and May (Mother's Day).

You can go by car to the middle of the mountain where there is a parking lot. Then, you have to walk to get to the top. Finally, on top, you will see a church and the beautiful Virgen de la Nube. You can enter the monument and the church for free, but if you want, there are cute souvenirs you can buy. 

It is a great experience.
